The National Weather Service has issued warnings for dangerously high temperatures due to a strengthening upper-level ridge trapping warm air over the region and blocking cooler Pacific air. The heat wave is predicted to peak on Thursday, with some areas potentially setting new daily temperature records.  Los Angeles is preparing for extreme conditions, with temperatures potentially reaching between 98 and 113 degrees. To address the heat, Mayor Karen Bass is deploying additional cooling centers and emergency services starting Tuesday. These centers will be available at various public facilities including libraries, parks, and community pools. An excessive heat warning will be in effect from Wednesday through Friday for Southern California’s populous counties and extending to neighboring regions, while Phoenix and Las Vegas will also face severe heat conditions. In contrast, the East Coast will experience more moderate temperatures, and the Gulf Coast of Texas might see thunderstorms, with critical fire weather warnings in the northern Plains.  [Read More Here]( 10-year-old boy confessed to killing former Louisiana mayor and his daughter, police say  A 10-year-old boy has been taken into custody after admitting to the fatal shooting of former Louisiana mayor Joe Cornelius Sr., 82, and his daughter Keisha Miles, 31.
