[Katie Porter for Senate]( I grew up on my family’s farm in Iowa, so I’m used to cold, winter weather. But the cold snaps we're seeing across the country are far from normal…and they’re another reminder of how urgently we must address climate change. Washington has been slow to act because of the influence Big Oil and other polluters have on politicians. I don’t take money from corporate PACs, federal lobbyists, or Big Oil executives, so you can know I’ll actually fight for our planet. If I’m elected to the Senate, here’s the plan: - Invest in Clean Energy: As we move to clean energy, I’ll fight for those high-paying union jobs to be right here in California. That starts with the $1.2 billion I’ve secured to build a hydrogen hub in our state, generating 220,000 jobs. - Hold polluters accountable for the damage they’ve done: I successfully implemented a new law to charge Big Oil more to drill on our public lands, but we must do more. - Invest in mass transit and workforce housing across California: Californians are often commuting hours by car because they can’t afford to live where they work—a system in which nobody benefits. - Prioritize environmental justice: Big Polluters have deliberately dumped pollution in marginalized communities, and now we must prioritize cleaning up and protecting these communities. - Improve disaster preparedness and build more resilient communities: I’ve written legislation that would create a Natural Disaster Safety Board to conduct comprehensive research and keep communities safe. Can you [add your name]( in support of my plan to address the climate crisis? And if you’re able, [can you pitch in so that I can win this race and fight for a better future?]( [Donate ›››]( [Petition ›››]( I can’t do this without grassroots supporters behind me. Thanks for your support—and for those of you in a cold part of the country—stay safe and warm! Katie Katie is running for the U.S. Senate because Californians deserve a warrior fighting for them in Washington. Our campaign is people-powered, we don’t take a dime from corporate PACs, federal lobbyists, or executives from Big Oil or Big Pharma.
