Truth to Power empowers women

Why I never use the phrase “women’s issues” [Truth to Power PAC]( I proudly bring my perspective as a single working mom to Congress when I advocate for universal child care, paid family leave, and abortion rights. But, I never use the phrase “women’s issues.” I’ll explain why below, but first, [will you split a donation between Truth to Power and our endorsed women in this election: Kirsten Engel, Sarah McBride, Emily Randall, and Maggie Goodlander?]( Take the example of child care, which enables parents to go to work without worrying that their kids are safe. Our economy is stronger when parents can fully participate in the workforce, and this benefits all of us regardless of your gender or whether you have kids or not. Of course, the lack of affordable child care options disproportionately hurts women, who are much more likely to be unpaid caregivers. But, when we pigeonhole this as a “women’s issue,” we let lawmakers off the hook for working on child care policy, even though it’s one of the largest costs families face today—and it’s a drag on our entire economy. Here’s why it’s important that we elect women. A Congress that looks like the people we represent does a better job. I’m reminded of the time that I raised questions about how the Child Tax Credit penalizes single parents, and I was told that no one had ever asked about that before. And, the research has shown that corporate boards that have women on them generate higher profits, better decisions, and even faster recalls of dangerous products. Truth to Power endorses candidates who will fight for what families need, not what corporations want. Yes, that means we endorse women. And with Truth to Power, women win. We can’t get over the finish line in November without grassroots donors like you, because all our endorsed candidates reject corporate PAC money.
