This month brought record-breaking heat to California. Again. We must act to end Big Oil’s influence in Washington and finally address the climate crisis. [Truth to Power PAC]( It’s hot outside. Like, really hot: Across California, dozens of communities have broken daily heat records since the start of July. Some areas experienced their hottest days on record. In Palm Springs, temperatures hit 124 degrees last week. Climate change is here. And if we don’t take action, it’s going to get exponentially worse. Big Oil executives have spent millions of dollars to buy D.C. politicians and block action on the climate crisis. As anyone who has been outside in California this month can tell you, they’ve been successful. Truth to Power is working to reverse Big Oil’s influence in Congress. We’re electing leaders who refuse to take money from Big Oil, who fight to ban lobbyists from bribing our elected officials, and who will hold the fossil fuel industry accountable once in office. [Can you chip in today to support our work, and make sure we can elect leaders to Congress who will fight to rid Washington of Big Oil’s influence?]( [Donate ›››]( Washington politicians have taken millions in contributions from Big Oil. Many deny the existence of climate change altogether—even as it unfolds before our very eyes. Climate change is dangerous for all of us. For the most vulnerable Americans, it’s especially deadly: Those who don’t have AC during a heat wave—or shelter during a hurricane—are most susceptible to the devastating harms of the climate crisis. For millions of Americans, ending Big Oil’s influence over our elected officials is no less than an existential issue. The longer it takes us to get it done, the hotter our summers are going to get. [So we’re asking again: Will you chip in today to help Truth to Power elect climate champions who will hold Big Oil accountable in Congress?]( [Donate ›››]( Thanks for being in this fight, Team Truth to Power Katie Porter started Truth to Power to support Democrats who reject corporate PAC money and are running to protect the environment, restore the nationwide right to an abortion, and create an economy that works for working people.
