[Truth to Power PAC]( I just introduced five key bills to help Congress work more effectively for the American people and curb the influence of special interests in our government. Americans deserve a Congress that works for them—not for special interests or a politician’s personal profit. [Will you add your name today to become a grassroots co-sponsor of the five pieces of legislation I just introduced?]( [Sign On]( Here’s a quick rundown of the five pieces of legislation I just introduced: 1) The Legislative Proxy and Absence Accommodation Resolution will allow Members to once again vote by proxy in the case of illness or another unavoidable absence, keeping Congress running and giving Americans the representation we deserve. 2) The Majority Rule Resolution ends the filibuster, which has prevented Congress from passing legislation that is broadly popular with a majority of the American people. 3) The Congressional Bipartisan Seating Resolution would set in stone a bipartisan recommendation to alternate seating of Members’ party affiliation during committee hearings. This will foster a more collaborative working environment between both parties. 4) The Lobbying Disclosure Modernization Act would finally consolidate information about who is lobbying in Congress into one accessible platform for public viewing. This would increase transparency and trust. 5) The Block the Revolving Door Act would institute a two-year ban on lobbying for former Members of Congress and other high-level government employees.
