[Truth to Power PAC]( ⬆️ Last week, the Biden Administration finalized a rule that implements reforms I proposed and passed through Congress as part of the Inflation Reduction Act in 2022. Now, instead of taxpayers subsidizing Big Oil’s drilling on our land, oil companies are finally going to be paying a higher rate, and they’ll have to set aside 15x the money for clean up and environmental remediation than was previously required—saving taxpayers millions. For over a century, Big Oil has been able to pollute communities and force taxpayers to clean up the mess, while these huge corporations made astronomical profits. This new law will finally hold them accountable for some of their greed. But our fight is far from over. Trump’s campaign is being funded by polluting special interests, and he’s eager to roll back regulations on these fossil fuel companies. This grassroots team sent me to Congress where I was able to help push this into law. Now, I need your help to elect other champions for the environment, who will stand up to Big Oil’s greed and against any Trump attempt to bring back sweetheart deals for Big Oil. [To help elect these new leaders, can you chip into Truth to Power, my organization committed to electing Democrats who reject corporate PAC money today?]( [Donate ›››]( Onward, Katie Katie Porter started Truth to Power to support Democrats who reject corporate PAC money and are running to protect the environment, restore the nationwide right to an abortion, and create an economy that works for working people.
