Naturally, many are wondering who will become his running mate, and apparently, he already has a shortlist of candidates. During a Fox News town hall on Tuesday, Trump confirmed some of the names being floated, including South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem. While heâs still keeping his options open, the former president said all of those being considered are âsolidâ candidates. During a closed-door testimony on Wednesday, Bidenâs brother James said the president "has never had any involvementâ in his familyâs business ventures, undermining the allegation at the heart of the GOPâs investigation. This testimony comes less than a week after the Justice Department arrested and charged former FBI informant Alexander Smirnov for allegedly making up intel about the Bidens. While Republicans have downplayed Smirnovâs indictment, Democrats like Rep. Jamie Raskin have said the revelations âdestroy" the case.
