The Israel Defense Forces said troops opened fire on Yotam Haim, Samer Talalka, and Alon Shamriz after they emerged from a nearby building shirtless and bearing a makeshift white flag. Officials also acknowledged that their deaths were a violation of the rules of engagement. “The shooting of the hostages was carried out contrary to the open-fire regulations,” said Israeli military chief Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevy. “It is forbidden to shoot at those who raise a white flag and seek to surrender.” The three men were among the more than 240 people abducted during Hamas’ unprecedented Oct. 7 attack on Israel, in response to which, Israel declared war on the militant group. Trump also quoted Russian President Putin on the "rottenness" of U.S. democracy. The Biden campaign released a statement in response, saying Trump "parroted Adolf Hitler, praised Kim Jong Un, and quoted Vladimir Putin while running for president on a promise to rule as a dictator... Trump is not shying away from his plan to lock up millions of people into detention camps." On the docket: Ruby Franke, the disgraced former family YouTuber who was [charged with six counts of felony child abuse in September](, is expected to enter a plea agreement today. Franke, whose channel 8 Passengers had 2.3 million subscribers before it was removed, was arrested along with her business partner Jodi Hildebrandt in August after one of her children escaped Hildebrandt's home. Robert Yancy Jr., 39, was serving a life sentence for sexual abuse of a child, and was last seen at 3:38 pm local time yesterday. He made his getaway in a white Nissan Versa, reportedly accompanied by his mother. The public is advised not to approach him, and to contact law enforcement with any information as to his whereabouts. Weather watch: A major storm that battered Florida over the weekend is now heading up the East Coast. More than 32 million Americans are under a wind advisory as they brace for a possible "bomb cyclone" — effectively, a winter hurricane. There's been an unconfirmed report of a tornado near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and the National Weather Service Charleston tweeted overnight that daily rainfall records were broken at all three of its climate sites on Sunday.   Must-Reads [View into MRI machine]( In and Out Experts are hoping a new, faster breast cancer MRI that can take as little as 10 minutes will motivate more women to get screened.
