A New York Times and Siena College poll determined that Donald Trump, who takes the stand in his $250 million business fraud trial today, has the edge in five key swing states. Hereâs a closer look at the findings â and [what they say about 2024](. Survey says: In a hypothetical face-off, Trump has the edge over Biden in five of six battleground states. His largest margin is in Nevada, where he leads by 10 percentage points, followed by Georgia (+6); Arizona (+5); Michigan (+5); and Pennsylvania (+4). Biden has the advantage in Wisconsin by two points. Why it matters: In 2020, Biden won all six of those swing states. Weâre still a year away from the election, but if the results were to hold, Trump would likely win more than 300 Electoral College votes â far more than the 270 needed to take the White House. Disturbing accusation: Police are investigating a hate crime after a Stanford University student was allegedly struck in a hit-and-run. Abdulwahab Omira, who is Arab Muslim, told officials that the driver, a white man in his mid-20s, made eye contact and shouted abuse as he accelerated towards him in a Toyota 4Runner. "This ordeal has solidified my resolve to advocate for love, understanding, and inclusivity,â Omira wrote in a statement from the hospital. New kid in town: Elon Musk has released an AI bot to rival ChatGPT. "Grok," the first bit of tech out of Musk's new company, xAI, is modeled on The Hitchhikerâs Guide to the Galaxy. Per xAI, Grok's got âa rebellious streakâ and can take on âspicy questions.â On Saturday, Musk posted what seemed to be Grok's response to a request for a cocaine recipe.
