The latest: “Horrendous, antisemitic messages threatening violence” appeared on an online forum over the weekend. Cornell University President Martha E. Pollack condemned the hate speech, noting that local police and the FBI had been alerted. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul called those who made the threats "terrorists," and met with Jewish students on campus on Monday. A growing trend: The Anti-Defamation League reports that antisemitic incidents have risen 388% following Hamas’ attacks in Israel. Muslim students nationwide also report feeling unsafe, and the Council on American-Islamic Relations has counted a record 774 Islamophobic incidents since Oct. 7. Six voters argue that Trump should be struck off the 2024 ballot due to his role in the Jan. 6 riots. The claim rests on Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which says that anyone who's sworn an oath to protect the Constitution then engages "in insurrection or rebellion” is barred from future office. This comes as billionaire GOP donor Leon Cooperman warns voters against siding with Trump, telling CNN in a rare rebuke: "He belongs in jail." One to watch: The FDA has warned that 26 over-the-counter eye drop products sold by major retailers could cause serious infections leading to vision loss or blindness. The agency found “unsanitary conditions in the manufacturing facility and positive bacterial test results." The facility hasn't been identified, but anyone suffering eye infections after using these products is advised to seek medical care immediately. A reckoning: The shocking death of ex-NHL star Adam Johnson, who was struck in the neck by a skate blade during a game on Saturday, has raised major safety concerns.
