At first, Donald Trump’s rivals for the 2024 Republican nomination were reluctant to speak out about his legal woes. But that has started to change since the former president was indicted over his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election. On Wednesday, former Vice President (and GOP hopeful) Mike Pence condemned Trump and his “crackpot lawyers,” saying they had “no right” to try and interfere with President Biden’s win. "When a horrendous crime is committed, it deserves the most severe penalty,” Carol Black, whose brother, Richard Gottfried, was killed, said on Wednesday. Sluggish "sprinter" scandal: A Somali sports official has been suspended after footage of an apparent novice runner went viral. The "sprinter," Nasro Abukar Ali, slowed to a jog toward the end of her 100-meter race at the World University Games in China. Somalia's Ministry of Youth and Sports has accused the official of “abuse of power, nepotism, and defaming the name of the nation,” begging the question: Just how substandard must an athlete be to qualify as a "nepo baby?"
