Trump's dramatic RNC acceptance speech July 19, 2024 It’s official: Donald Trump is the GOP presidential nominee. We’ve got more on his remarks at the RNC and [what could be on his agenda]( if he’s elected. Then, I’m [breaking down the latest Biden news]( with NYT’s Maggie Haberman. Later on, we’ll share [what a doctor wants you to know about Covid treatment]( and [the best advice for new grandparents](. He then launched into attacks on his political nemeses and the Biden administration, falsely claiming that inflation is at a record high (it's nowhere near), that migrants are destroying Social Security and Medicare (experts disagree), that the "world was at peace" during his administration (it wasn't) and that Biden wants to quadruple people's taxes (he's never indicated that he does). It was a speech of contrasts. At some points, Trump struck an uncharacteristically conciliatory tone, saying things like "We must not criminalize dissent or demonize political disagreements." At others, it was classic Trump, falsely accusing the Democrats of "cheating on elections.” While he didn't mention Project 2025, the nation's attention is increasingly turning to this robust plan to transform the government if he returns to the White House. We took a closer look at [the most extreme policies that could soon become a reality](. Massive IT outages around the world have affected airlines, businesses, media groups and banks, and left all flights from major U.S. airlines — including Delta, United and American Airlines — temporarily grounded.
