Happy Earth Day, {NAME}! From an early age, my mom taught me the lesson of leaving a place better than you found it. She used to pick up litter in our neighborhood, and now I carry a garbage picker and bucket in my car with me everywhere I go. [Kara cleaning up coastal trail]( The existential threat of climate change can feel daunting and discouraging at times, but Earth Day is a perfect time to reflect on what difference you can make in your community, big or small. I've been proud of my work in the legislature, getting pollutants out of our drinking water and reducing single-use plastics, but there's so much more to be done. [Now I'm ready to do my part in Washington to protect our community and our planet. Can you pitch in $5 or anything you can to get me there?]( [DONATE]( Of course, Earth Day is also about looking ahead. I truly believe a future is possible where we aren't handing down an earth to our children and grandchildren that's simultaneously flooding and on fire. But we have to act now. I am committed to bold, federal action. {NAME}, I'm hopeful that we can still make a difference, that our leaders will find the courage to act boldly, but our work is urgent. We need to flip this seat blue, fight for the Dem majority, and make sure we can push for real climate and environmental action in Congress. [Will you pitch in $5 or anything you can to give us the support we need to win and fight for our planet?]( Let's clean things up together! Kara Hahn Kara Hahn is a lifelong Long Islander, social worker, county legislator, and candidate for Congress in NY-01. This open seat is a must win for Democrats to defend our majority in the House and continue driving progress in America, but we can't do it without your help. Make a recurring donation to sustain our movement for the long haul and send Kara to Congress!
