I been a busy boy this last month, 3 new series started and more in the works... October 2018 Newsle

I been a busy boy this last month, 3 new series started and more in the works... October 2018 Newsletter Howdy Guitar Player! Sorry this newsletter is so late, I do aim for the 1st and am often late, but this time it's late because I'm just pumping out LOADS of new lessons :) I spent a wonderful 2 weeks in Tuscany running 'Campfire Workshops' and that's meant that things have been even busier than usual when I got back - it's all good stuff - lots of exciting new ideas and projects to sink my teeth into - but I'm gonna have to book myself a couple of days of doing nothing and recharge soon. Username Emails? If you created your account using google or facebook login, the default username (if you didn't set one) is your email, which is not a good idea. We've changed it now so it'll strip off everything after the @ automatically - but if you have your email as your username, please change it - it'll attract you spam! I can't go change them myself or you won't be able to login! New Lessons Three new series starting in the same month! The most ever! The 59 Second series is probably my favourite because it's super challenging for me to make, film and edit! Hope you dig them all! [• Shape Explorer - NEW SERIES •]( Aimed at Advancing Beginners, this series explores each of the CAGED open shapes and the variations that fall nicely under the fingers that you might enjoy incorporating into your playing. I taught it recently on the Campfire Workshops and everyone caught it really well, so thought I'd turn it into a series on the website - new lessons out every week in October! [• 59 Second Guitar Lessons - NEW SERIES •]( It started with me thinking about delivering content for Instagram which has a max video thing of a minute... but got loads of great feedback about it generally - quite challenging for me to make something useful and productive in such a short time frame - but I'm enjoying the challenge and the later ones I just filmed today are getting better... They're on the website but really designed to get something useful from your social media scrolling on Instagram and Facebook. They're at least weekly - basically throwing them up as fast as I can make them! [• The Captian's Privates - NEW SERIES •]( The [Rut Buster]( series was very popular but were not so satisfying for Capt. because he didn't get to work on the material as well as we shot a bunch of them at once, so he's not coming by my studio every couple of weeks for a proper lesson and we're broadcasting it live on YouTube - make sure you subscribe and hit that bell icon if you wanna catch it live and join the Q&A at the end... but they're on the website for later viewing too. I'm working on improving the sound for the future ones - that first one was a bit flaffy. [• Boss Katana Amp & Effects Series •]( I've released more Katana lessons - an overview of the Tone Studio which is how you can do deep editing of the sounds via the computer and also an in-depth look at T Wah (Touch Wah) and I'll be filming more later today after I get the newsletter done and my vat return finished! :) oh the good life! [• Practical Music Theory •]( Been adding some lessons on songwriting and chord progressions because many people said they were learning about theory to help that aspect of their playing. I'm planning to film more video for later in the week and still working on some 'study compositions' to help put things into practice. If you want to understand what you play - this is the area of the site for you! • Blues Rhythm 2 Fun • I just started filming a new Blues Rhythm series too which is a bit more ad hoc than my usual courses - things that most intermediate players will be able to get stuck into and just add some more tricks into their playing - I love playing the solo blues style and figured a less structured and more self-contained series might be a fun change! They start this Friday - so check on your dashboard after 5pm Uk time! New Songs This is almost the slowest month for songs ever... but hopefully I've been keeping you busy with all the new lessons and series that have just kicked off - I been super crazy busy working for y'all... I think I needed a break from doing songs, not sure why exactly, just wasn't feeling it - but more coming soon! :) [Stire It Up - Bob Markey]( This Bob Marley classic gets the easy beginner treatment and I use my Beginner Song Course App for the intro demo thing - it's a real fun play along tool! Blasts From The Past Being I still get lots of requests for songs I've done already - figured I might add in a couple of older lessons that y'all might enjoy! [Sultans Of Swing - Dire Straits]( Man those were the days - before I'd really got what was going on with the site and all, and these lessons were a lot of fun - I need to revisit it myself though, can't remember the solos at all! :) They're a solid lesson series though and it's a lot of fun to play! [Blackbird - The Beatles]( Everyone at some point in their guitar journey should have a go a Blackbird - it's bona fide guitar classic and is fun to play - and I teach it right! Not as hard as you might think (or some people make it!). Store & Tee Shirt Updates Four new Tees this month including these two below and the cool Guitari design by the Jedi! Over 70 original and exclusive designs available in a range of colours and S to XXXL :) It's still 3 for the price of 2! No code required, just add any 3 tee's to your cart and discount will be applied! Click the tee pix below to grab them at The Official JustinGuitar store - the only place you'll find them! And while you're there you might like to pick up one of our awesome new [super cool pick tins!]( :) [The Forum Song Comp]( Big congratulations to DavidP for his winning entry in last months song competition - wrote and recorded his own song after just 18 months on his guitar journey! Great entries in this last one all around - well done everyone! The next competition runs from now until a week before Christmas and the theme is Christmas collaboration! As well as the usual Skype sessions from me, I have some more super cool prizes, including a Boss Katana amp, some effects pedals, JustinGuitar store vouchers, D'Addario 'care packs', a selection of books and there are some more I'm working on too! Rules are - at least 2 members of the forum for each entry (max 5), one of which must have been a member before Oct 1st (so if you're new you need to make some friends real fast!). Must be somehow related to Christmas, a carol, or pop hit or something. Not more than 3 minutes long (makes it hard to judge) andclosing date is December 18. Beginner Song Course App News ([iOS]( & [Android]( Pumping out a new song every week at the moment on here :) still getting crazy good reviews and feedback all around. See the new [Stir It Up]( song if you are looking for a little demo of what is going on with the app and how it works! [Sober For October]( The title makes me sound like a big drinker, but I'm not... but I do love beer and going without for a whole month is pretty tough... but to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support it's totally worth it. I'd much appreciate it if you could drop a little in the hat for this wonderful charity and support my sobriety for October! Other life stuff... I had a wonderful time in Tuscany - seems so long ago now typing this newsletter! The students for both weeks were awesome and worked hard, and had a lot of fun. Being that I spend so much time teaching people I never meet, it's super rewarding to watch people get better in front of my eyes! :) I ran a lot and saw some amazing sunrises and I love the food and vibe in the little town Bagno Vignoni. Since coming back I've just been totally full on - working hard on the site but also making sure I take plenty of time for the family... doing trips to the zoo and children's parks and that kind of thing... and just playing Lego - Vivi is growing so fast it's scary and it won't be long before she'll be too cool to wanna hang with her old man! I've just placed an order for a new custom-made guitar with [Gray Guitars]( which is exciting but I have a bit of a wait on now... the vibe is a strat type guitar but with a TV Jones pickup in the neck and some interesting electrics tweaking. More on that when it gets underway! OK, I need to put in a little practice time before the girls get home... oh and just because I'm not busy enough already... We have a new member of the family joining at the end of the month... a Border Collie / Poodle cross... what have I let myself in for? ha ha! Better finish getting the fencing done this weekend. Hope you're all having a lot of fun on your guitar journeys and see you very soon. Wishing you much love and laughter and guitar fun! Justin Copyright © 2018 Justin Guitar Ltd, All rights reserved. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
