JustinGuitar January 2018 Newsletter Happy New Year {NAME} !! Hope you've had some time to chill out

[justinguitar logo]( JustinGuitar January 2018 Newsletter Happy New Year {NAME} !! Hope you've had some time to chill out and enjoy playing guitar! I managed to get some proper time off but I find doing nothing really hard - crazy but I'm most relaxed when I'm busy doing something, particularly making things, so been getting more into woodwork as a chill out activity. My mrs got me a Lego robotic kit to keep me busy over Christmas! Big kid? ;) anyhows, onto guitar stuff... NEW LESSONS, SONGS & MORE! Site revamp The new site build is going great and most of the graphics are done, I'm mostly now just spending loads of time checking the lessons and songs and relinking stuff. Still a long way to go but closer now to the finish than the start! Once the main site is working I'd love to get the dev team onto more fancy site development ideas but I gotta fund it, so donations appreciated now more than ever :) Below is a sneak preview of how the new all songs page is looking so far! [Donate and help me rock the new site!]( [Site Redesign - Image of the new all songs page] Something For The Weekend...Couple of classics from a 'Facebook Request Fest' that I should have done yonks ago - [Everlong]( [Drive (Incubus)]( the classic [Gallows Pole (Zeppelin)]( the mega popular [Daughters by John Mayer]( and [Tired Of You By Foo Fighters](. There was some [Christmas cheese]( too! Another Request Fest a few days ago gave me another bunch of classics to hit this year - I'm also planning to live stream me transcribing as much as I can on YouTube so those interested can catch how it's done and the process of working them out! I already live streamed a session working out a bunch of AC/DC songs and a Malcolm Young tribute series starts this Friday with Ride On, and I'll keep it running for as longs as I can. We Salute You Mal! [Ride On by ACDC]( ['Ride On' ACDC]( [Everlong by Foo Fighters]( ['Everlong' Foo Fighters]( [Drive by Incubus]( ['Drive' Incubus]( [Gallows Pols by Led Zeppelin]( ['Gallows Pole' Led Zeppelin]( [Daughter by John Mayer]( ['Daughters' John Mayer]( [Tired Of You by Foo Fighters]( ['Tired of You' Foo Fighters]( [Last Christmas]( ['Last Christmas']( [We Wish You A Merry Christmas]( ['We Wish You A Merry Christmas']( [Jingle Bells]( ['Jingle Bells']( More Awesome New Tees Our ever growing guitar tee collection includes [Difficult Times]( [Plato]( and [Real Grandpas]( and we got a bunch more on the way :) Refresh your wardrobe for the new year! [Tee Shirts at the Official JustinGuitar Store]( [Difficult Times]( [Diffcult Times]( [Plato]( [Plato]( [Real Grandpas]( [Real Grandpas]( App Updates Been making some big steps with my Time Trainer Metronome App - Tap Tempo is back and better than ever and we even bought back the swinging metronome head for those that missed it! We're listening to your feedback and going to make this app the best it can be - and great responses to the updates so far! We welcome feedback - and it's already an incredible tool and for chicken feed money it's incredible value. All the other apps are getting updated features too - and many of you will be pleased to hear we're exploring android options for 2018! If you got them and dig them, reviews are always appreciated and really help the reach. [JustinGuitar apps on the iOS Apple Store]( Ear Training Series I've gotten a bit behind with Ear Training vids and right now I have a really rough cold, sore throat and cough so filming is nigh on impossible - had hoped to have them done by now, but will hit it as soon as I can! Effective Practice Now is the perfect time to refine your goals and make sure you're headed in the right direction and going to make as much progress as you can in an enjoyable way and actually get where you wanna go. :) If you've not checked it out then give it a watch, it'll only be a couple of hours time and may make your guitar journey more fun and your practice way more effective! [The Effective Practice Module]( JustinGuitar Community Song Competition There were so many awesome entries for the Song Competition that it was real hard for me and the other mods to choose! In the end it came down to three, so I decided to tie them and they'll each get an hour skype session and a £35 gift voucher to use at the JustinGuitar store! Big congratulations to Fox Cunning (great fun), john256 (well done!) and redrhodie (original song). The Song has proven very popular but because of time constraints I'm going to move it to every two months, so the deadline for the next one will be the end of February. Simply record yourself playing an original or cover song and head over to the community and submit your entry. You'll get feedback from other community members and maybe make some friends or learn something! :) [See the rules and enter right here!]( General News I hope the New Year has started well for you :) I'm trying not to work much this first week of the year, let the year settle in slowly before putting the foot back down! I'm trying to do an hour acoustic practice every day which is fun, doing some writing and developing some new technique stuff - I miss having a set of songs to play out, so going to work on that the first chunk of the year. Been fighting a very annoying chest cold and cough for a couple of months now and it's getting pretty frustrating. I've not been able to train much (running or CrossFit) and so on top of the usual Christmas excesses I'm feeling a bit out of sorts. But really hoping it'll clear off soon and I can get back to normal life. Seems to be a common thing going around and with my live in petri dish I get it all! The new web site is rocking along and found a great designer in Belgium (Veerle Pieters at Douh) to put the finishing design touches. The web development team in based in Finland (Ben, Sasu and Rami at IWA), but the lead developer is from the US - feeling pretty international! Most of the hard work coming now is stuff I can't get much help with so I'm just 'at the coal face' a couple of hours a day going through all the pages and modules (courses) and making sure everything fits together! [The Official JustinGuitar Store]( has had a super cool revamp and looks so much better and up to date :) between our designer Will and the shop developer Sultan they really cleaned it up nice. Go check it out! :) But note that Jedi is off until the 8th - you can still order now but we won't be shipping until then! Hope you have an awesome start to the year and wishing you much love and laughter for the whole year! J. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
