Here's an update from Justin! [View this email in your browser]( Life Stuff Playin’ It & Blues Howdy picker! Hope that you’ve had an awesome month and finding plenty of practice time. Been a super full-on month for me in every domain. My father was over from Australia for a bit, and my daughter had exams and a half-term break. Even though my partner does most of the baby care, I can’t expect her to do it all… so my available time is certainly a lot less than before M was born. He’s thriving, though, and is a smiley and happy little dragon. I often sit him in his bouncer while I’m transcribing or practicing, and he loves watching and listening when I play. The biggest recent event was the release of the [Blues Immersion]( program. Enrollment has closed, and so now the focus has shifted to making it as awesome as possible for all the students. I've done most of it, but I left some parts open so I can adapt it to fit the student's needs. I’m fully involved! Blimmers (Blues Immersion students, haha!) are all busy now with the preparation module. They're getting warmed up for what is going to be a super fun six months, and we have our first live class later today. The last year or so, I’ve been fully immersed in Blues myself, and will be a while yet too. :) We plan to open Class 2 for enrollments in December so class start in January. You can [join the waiting list](. :) 💙 Playin’ It Forward Some cool [Playin’ It Forward]( news, too. Firstly, I visited a school in South London and dropped off 8 guitars so they have some proper ‘real’ instruments to make music with. It's really good vibes to be able to help some underprivileged kids with learning challenges access music. The students I met there were really digging them! Big thanks to Andertons for the guitars and Jed for coming along and also doing great work on revamping our pre-loved instruments! We also just got a first batch of guitars out to recipients outside the United Kingdom! I'm not gonna lie—we’ve faced real challenges getting guitars to people outside the UK, particularly in the US, where we really need a partner to ship the guitars. If you know someone that runs a music store that sells beginner instruments, please ask them to [get in touch](mailto:laryne@justinguitar.com?subject=Playin'%20It%20Forward%20&body=)! I want to get at least 50 guitars out to US based students this year, we buy them, but would need a friendly price! :) 🎫 AccaDacca & Taylor Swift I’m taking some time to declutter and sort out my studio and ‘office.’ It has become cluttered and overrun with stuff I don’t use or need. It feels good already, and I’m only getting started, going to go through my boxes of pedals and just keep the ones I love. I mean, how many delay pedals does a guy really need? lol. Seems the less stuff I have around me, the clearer my head is, and I’ve offloaded a ton of books and old DVDs to my local charity shop! Found boxes of books too—the first print runs of my old beginner course and songbooks—now at Oxfam in Farnham. :) I also decided to take a break from alcohol for a while. I’m only 22 days in, but I'm feeling much better already. I'm still allowing myself alcohol-free beer. There are some alcohol-free beer now that taste as good as regular beer. Tropical IPA by Drop Bear and Lazer Crush by Beavertown are my favorites! Very excited to take my daughter to see AC/DC early next month at Wembley—it will be her first concert! We’re seeing Taylor Swift afterwards, which I suspect she’ll enjoy more, but it's far cooler to have AccaDacca as your first concert, right? I better get back to a few songs and lessons I’d like to get filmed today! Cheers! :) Justin A Quick Note Guitar Pro 8 is on-sale!
