One thing I've learned as I've gotten older is that when it comes to writing, if I don't "have it" that day, then I don't try to force it. Case in point... I spent this last weekend in Las Vegas meeting up with some friends... And while I was there... I was out to dinner late on Friday night... I was up til 1 AM on Saturday watching the UFC fights... And then I didn't get back to Austin til 11 PM or so on Sunday night... So it was a long weekend... And when Monday morning came around... I tried to jump back into my work. But when I opened my computer... I simply didn't "have it". I couldn't focus. I had no motivation... It was very obvious that I was not going to get anything done. So instead of forcing myself to write... Or beating myself up for it... I simply took a "recovery day". So I didn't do any work... I just did little things like picking my pants up from the tailor... And talking to my Dad on the phone... I even had a nice 45-minute mid day nap... And because I did all that... And because I didn't work... I feel like a million bucks this morning. I woke up ready to write. And I'm already knocking things off my to-do list. So it was a smart decision to take it easy yesterday... And to not "force myself" to write when I wasn't feeling it. Anyways... I wanted to share this with you cause it's a good example that no matter how good you are at copy... And no matter how ambitious you are... Some days, you just won't "have it". That's reality. So when that happens... Sometimes it's best to just admit you don't have it... Take the day off... And come back better the next day. No use in beating yourself up... Or forcing it when you're not feeling it... Just take some time for yourself... And get back to writing when you feel energized and ready to write. - Justin    This email was sent to {EMAIL} by admin@justingoff.com 1920 E.
