[DJ-Kicks ALBUM OF THE WEEK](
[K7](
[When they were asked to put together the latest volume in the "DJ Kicks" series, Mount Kimbie boys Dominic Maker and Kai Campos drew influence from a recent six-date run supporting Actress. As a result, the 22 tracks they have chosen - here presented in DJ friendly, unmixed form - tend towards the experimental and off-kilter, touching on a myriad of styles (ambient, industrial-era experimentalism, South American influenced tropical drum jams, spacey modular techno, raw-edged peak-time jams, mind-altering acid weirdness and intergalactic electro all feature) in the process. Highlights are naturally plentiful, from the hypnotic dancefloor intensity of Stanislav Tolkachev and bleeping body-jack of A Sagittariun, to the skewed warmth of Severed Heads and the dream-like weirdness of their own exclusive contribution, "Southgate".](

[Generation EP3](
[Metalheadz](
[Commix returns with the final part of his "Generation" trilogy. Two years have passed since the first two EPs but these four cuts more than make up for the wait with their beguiling, & and often foreboding charm. The supernatural punch and atmosphere of the heavy stepping opener "The Time", the deep Amazonian halftime odyssey that is "Fragile State", the lucid skips and vapour trails of "Cherry" and the sci fi grand finale "The Divide" that throws us deep into cyberpunk mode with no signs of escape. Generation bounding; Commix only crafts ageless music.](

[Running Back Mastermix: Front By Klaus Stockhausen & Boris Dlugosch (unmixed tracks)](
[Running Back Germany](Back+Germany/?utm_source=feat_email&utm_medium=feat_email_18-09-24&utm_term=feat_email_all_none&utm_content=feat_email_new+this+week&utm_campaign=feat_email_all_jd)
[The latest volume in Running Back's celebratory Mastermix series pays tribute to Hamburg's legendary Front club, which did much to popularize American house music (amongst other things) in Germany the late '80s and early '90s. The expansive set contains an epic DJ mix in two parts from original resident DJs Klaus Stockhausen and Boris Dlugosch, plus no less than 37 vintage cuts that made Front's dancers move. It's pretty much all solid-gold fare, with killer proto-house and first wave house jams being joined by obscure early UK electro (Syncobeat), Balearic deep house (Fila Brazillia's often-overlooked "Mermaids"), sleazy Italo-disco (Answering Machine), New Wave-era Euro dance, Paradise Garage-era New York anthems (Temper, Hot Streak), punk-funk (Modern Romance) and breezy, loved-up synth-pop (the brilliant Dub of Blue Moderne's "Through The Night").](

[Making a surprising yet welcome addition to Hanseatic powerhouse Diynamic here is the inimitable Moscoman. The Israeli DJ/producer has taken the world by storm in the last few years, with his trademark style of lo-slung punk funk and indie-dance grooves as heard across imprints as diverse as ESP Institute, Multi Culti and I'm A Cliche. For the newly founded Picture series, the Disco Halal boss provides a document in time: showcasing the artist's current creative output. It is not an album format per se, but far more than merely an EP. From the emotive opener "Song For Bourdain", the slinky and melodic tech-house of "Shamaniac" (which is right in harmony with the label's aesthetic) or the tunnelling and tripped-out psychedelia of "Under Your Wing" which is classic Moscoman.](

[Young Berlin based producer Kevin De Vries returns, with more of his trance inspired techno sounds that have previously made waves on top labels Afterlife and Drumcode. His latest offering surfaces on the massive Cocoon imprint - let's not forget the hit "Time Traveller" was one of the most played tracks by chief Sven Vath back in 2016 - which proved to be an extremely successful year for De Vries. Harsh yet hypnotic arpeggios make for proper tunnel vision on the dancefloor with "Meraki", while the uplifting "Sonorous" (in collaboration with Weska) allows perfectly for moments of euphoria with its rich tapestry of melodies. Finally "My Blurred Dream" is a fitting title for this late night chugger, experly geared for heads-down moments under the strobe light.](

[The Sound Of Lumberjacks In Hell](
[BBE](
[German DJ Marcel Vogel began resplicing soul and disco at the turn of the millenium, convinced that he had to something unique to contribute to the scene. After moving to Amsterdam in 2010, he founded Lumberjacks In Hell: initially as a conduit for his own edits and productions. Soon after, he found himself releasing original tracks from his musical heroes and bringing the 'Lumberjacks' sound to clubs and festivals all over the globe. British institution BBE helps Vogel celebrate eight years in the business here, with a bunch of fresh cuts that will truly shine under that disco ball. Highlights include the lo-slung funk groove of Beam Me Up's "Rabbit's Foot", some well dusted deepness for listening to in the dark courtesy of Funk Butcher (feat. Trim) on "Check The Flow", the inimitable Seven Davis Jr with the sleazy mood lighting of "Get To Know Me" and Amsterdam's finest Nachtbraker - who helps us enjoy life in the slo-lane on the smooth exclusive "Jared Fogle".](

[Logan D's Low Down Deep imprint celebrate 100 releases with this bumper to bumper banger collection with cuts from the biggest names in the heavier end of the game; Turno, Maji, Upgrade, Voltage, Heist, Serum and of course the late great Dominator are just some of the heavyweights involved. Every tune is a highlight but mad salutes fire in the direction of Turno & Pacso with their purring harmonic bass creeper "Cosmic Funk", K Motionz' long awaited summer slamming anthem "Buckaguy" and the blissful rippling charms and outrageous subby drop of Heist's "Hawaiian". Elsewhere there's pure gully fisticuffs as Kanine has "Bloody Knuckles" and Serum has "Brass Knuckles". Either way, they both KO. Like the whole album. Get on this.](

[Khumba SINGLE OF THE WEEK](
[Gruuv](
[For their latest dancefloor bullet the mighty Gruuv recruit Hungary's James Cole (real name Janos Bozoki), who in 'Khumba' serves up a truly epic houser that starts out sounding Afro-tinged, as the title might lead you expect, before some classical-style piano heralds a turn for the proggy/melodic - a real journey of a tune. Jay Shepheard provides a slightly darker, bassier refix, while the EP's completed by two more original cuts: the bottom-heavy 4am NYC groove that is 'Go With Me', with its vaguely disconcerting spoken female vocal, and 'Got You', a concoction of tribal drums and 'Plastic Dreams'-ish synths.](

[Heaven Is A State Of Mind](
[Rekids](
[Dedicated to his deceased mother, Heaven is Markus Suckut's third artist album and his most impressive to date. It opens with the orchestral strings of "Escape" and the spacey, upbeat dub techno of "Breeze" before moving into the melancholic deep techno of "Future Is Not Always Bright" and the spaced out down tempo "Above The Clouds". It's not all reflective material however. "Sun's Out" is a more light-hearted track and sees the German producer drop a catchy vocal snippet, while on "Take A Break", he fuses a frenetic jazz break to a filtered techno groove. As these tracks and the niggling acid of "Orchid" all suggest, the sound track to the after life doesn't have to be sombre.](

[Toulouse D&B OG Julien Salvi returns to Lenzman's The North Quarter with his third album Broken Soul. An album rooted in heartache's slow recovery, it's his most personal and hard hitting long player to date, and also his most eclectic. Laced with poignant tones and textures throughout, tracks such as the DRS-led "The Hurts" and "Late Night Jam" with Tyler Daley really capture Redeyes soulful D&B foundations but there's more than enough space for hazy house steppers such as "All Blues" and a strong presence of hip-hop via cuts such as "Oooo Laaah" (with KinKai) and "Blessed" (with Abnormal Sleepz and HMD) that create the most honest and authentic picture Redeyes has painted to date.
