Next up Spec joins the party as the pair collaborate on the glitchy roller 'Scatter' before Seven moves back into some intense solo production work on the haunted sounds of 'Reactor'. It appears that N Type's legendary imprint has pulled out the sauce yet again as Khonsu steps up for a mammoth self titled four tracker. We begin with the shuffling bass tones of 'It's The Little Things' before moving into the more dubstyle compositional structure of 'Blue Acid', laced with smooth sub melodies and lively chord progressions. 'ENC038D' is a top draw LP project, from 'Type Zero' with its euphoric arpeggiated textures and 'Blutack' with its impeccable dubwise sound design to the tribal percussive flavours of 'Issa', the eastern inspired melodies of 'Suffer' and the dungeon driven subs of 'The Pipe'. The project also comes complete with two top draw remixes, as Zygos takes 'Type Zero' for a spacey overhaul and Koma reworks 'The Pipe' into a percussive shackout. The title track 'Might Of The Trinity' is a subtly spooky roller, packed to the rafters with mind boggling sub work and unpredictable snare delays, topped with eerie ride cymbals and marching drum rhythms. This one is a future bass stomper, operating at an increased dubstep BPM, pulling together stunning synth melodies and irresistible harmonies, destined to the turn the crowds and big room audiences into pits of euphoria come the breakdown. From the still thrilling operatives and brazenness of "Get Higher" to the techno like creeper "Ruff House Rose" and the beautifully freaky and tripped out the latest and last Vibration track "Don't Watch Man", this is the sound of a man who's flown the flag harder than most of his peers put together. This is followed by the dubwise flavours of 'Deep Sea Search' before we move into the highly anticipated 'Document Z' collaboration with Soukah, which takes spacey syncopation to the next level. The project is made up almost evenly of original recordings and intuitive remixes, with incredibly creative arrangements such as the swampy textures of 'TopDogs' and the glitchy percussive rolls of 'Kotomble' taking stand out roles. As far as the remixes go, Wreckage immediately stands out as he revamps 'Left Area' into a serious neurotic roller, as well as Michael Dayne's incredibly well thought out soundscaping of 'Two Skies'. Overall it's a fantastic project, projecting across the full range of dubstep's ever expanding fences.]( [Listen]( [Wishlist]( [Buy]( [Zygos]( [SFG]( [Rarefied]( [Zygos makes his return to releasing with a gem of an EP here as he teams up with Rarefied on his brand new SFG project. At first the evocative eastern inspired melodies and shuffling bass and drum movements of the title track 'SFG' take the lead, before dropping into the more syncopated and darkened arrangements of 'Forward', driven by its hypnotic spacial textures. We begin with the title track 'Lusos', which is from the off driven by sharp percussive smashes, padded out by rolling subs below and dubbed out drum work. Following this we have the tripletred delays of 'Swordfish II' which sits atop yet more phenomenal sub design before landing on the classic LFO riots and unpredictable drum arrangements of 'Warhammer'. Shades of jazz, soul, broken beat and house linger throughout these lush and dusty downbeat selections. Take for instance the smooth opener "Before, After" with its seductive leads, airy pads and reduced polyrhythms, the late night deepness of "Gone Swimming" (which is so sensual) or the simply evocative mood lighting of "Between Summers" which respectfully recreates the vibe of UK greats such as 4hero or At jazz's classic nu-jazz antics.]( [Listen]( [Wishlist]( [Buy]( [Plastician]( [Overdue]( [Terrorhythm]( [Croydon's Chris Reed aka Plastician tells us that his usual grime shenanigans are held back for their own release in the near future, following this current release entitled Overdue: an EP named due to the lateness of the release, as well as an ode to his two children who were born beyond full-term pregnancy. All good things are worth waiting for he says, on this ode to his wife and kids for putting up with him, and a result of his love hate relationship with music.
