Smith and Priestley deliver their own driving, bassline-driven peak-time revision (the "Poems In The Heart Floor Version") before handing over the parts to Detroit veteran Wajeed. He sought out Argentinian producer Fernando Pulichino a few years ago and he's back with more emotive nu-disco business on the deep side. This follows up some great releases on Leng, Futureboogie and Is It Balearic. Starting out with the sexy neon-lit mood lighting of "Serena" that's perfect for the early evening. The lo-slung "Solstice" is perfect for watching a sunset on The White Isle . The original version - included at the end of the EP - feels like a more underground take on the floor-friendly, classic disco-pop sound cultivated by Daft Punk and Pharrell Williams on "Get Lucky". Really, though, it's the remixes that take top billing, with fast-rising Aussie Dr Packer providing the headline rework. His take is chunkier and funkier, making much more use of delay effects, mind-altering cowbells and crunchy Clavinet lines. It sounds like a summer anthem in waiting. Expertly produced and crafted, it is also the Brazilian producer's most diverse release. It moves in style from the low slung electronic disco of "The Walker" into the live drums and guitar of "The Black Bookshelf" and the smart dance pop of "Overload", which features Luciana Villanova on vocals. Of course these could all be signs that Boratto has grown up and got serious - after all '"Forgotten" sounds like an adept take on punk funk and he veers into neo-classical on the sweeping strings and keys of "Scene 2". As the industrial drones of "Functional Basic Unit of Life" and the rugged electro on "Generative Model" and "Arboreal" all demonstrate, he has mapped out a route that stops off at many diversions. This time around though it's a full length effort in the form of Tulipa Moves, featuring a collection of sublime moments and the deepest strains of electronica. It has a celestial/new-age aesthetic all throughout, a trademark carried on from his previous efforts for the label - that sits somewhere between The Abstract Eye's downbeat techno experiments or the aquatic bliss of Move D & Benjamin Brunn's Songs From The Beehive. You will note that the tracks utilise a variety of rhythmic patterns and percussive elements, exploring a range of unearthly but attractive sounds and are capable of stirring different emotions in
