THE JUNKEE WEEKLY No Images? [Click here]( [Junk Mail from Junkee]( SCOTT MORRISON PROVES HE'S UNFIT TO BE PM Welcome to Junk Mail, your chance to catch up on the week in pop culture, music, news and politics. Here. We. Go. New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has won international praise for her response to last week's horrific terrorist attack in Christchurch. Addressing Parliament on Tuesday, [Ardern refused to utter the name of the alleged perpetrator](, instead calling on New Zealanders to remember the names of the 50 innocent people who were killed. [She also announced sweeping changes to the nation's gun laws](, declaring that "the time for the mass and easy availability of these weapons must end". But while Ardern was showing the world what real leadership looks like, politicians here in Australia were... well, doing the exact opposite. Last Week Tonight host John Oliver put it best [when he called Queensland senator Fraser Anning "a huge fucking asshole"]( after Anning [blamed the Christchurch attacks on Muslim immigration](. Prime Minister Scott Morrison hasn't covered himself in glory either, [hitting out at journalist Waleed Aly]( after Aly cited a 2011 news report that claimed Morrison [once urged his colleagues in a shadow cabinet meeting to exploit anti-Muslim sentiment for votes](. Morrison called the allegation a "disgraceful smear and an appalling lie", and told reporters that Health Minister Greg Hunt could back him up. [He then immediately fled the press conference after it was pointed out to him that Hunt wasn't even at the meeting in question](. This week also saw the AFL community rally around Carlton star Tayla Harris [after a photo of her was inundated with sexist comments](. Harris later told Melbourne radio the comments were "sexual abuse". ["Something needs to happen," she said](. "I can see in people’s profile pictures, they’ve got kids, or they’ve got daughters, or women in their photos ... if these people are saying things like this to someone they don’t know on a public platform, what are they saying behind closed doors?" THIS WEEK'S TOP STORIES [Scott Morrison’s Trainwreck Interview With Waleed Aly Proves He’s Not Fit To Be PM]( Just days after accusing him of defamation, Scott Morrison sat down for a one-on-one interview with The Project host Waleed Aly. By the time it was over, [the Prime Minister had shown without a shadow of a doubt why he's unfit to hold his office](. [Three Days After Christchurch, A Liberal Senator Linked Refugees To Terrorism on ‘Q&A’]( [Three Days After Christchurch, A Liberal Senator Linked Refugees To Terrorism on ‘Q&A’ ]( [People Are Recreating That Iconic Tayla Harris Photo To Kick The Snot Out Of Sexist Trolls]( [People Are Recreating That Iconic Tayla Harris Photo To Kick The Snot Out Of Sexist Trolls ]( HANSON HYPOCRISY [It’s Too Late Now: The Time For ‘Sunrise’ To Reject Pauline Hanson Was Years Ago]( "There aren’t ‘two sides’ to racism. There is right and wrong. Hanson obviously has a right to her views, but Sunrise has no obligation to give her a platform." This week, David Koch accused Pauline Hanson of fuelling anti-Muslim sentiment. But as Junkee's Rob Stott points out, [Sunrise has been broadcasting her views for years](. CLOSE THE GAP DAY [Hear Our Voices, Respect Our Choices: How To Support Close The Gap Day]( "Close the Gap Day goes beyond a morning tea discussion of racism and its impact to health. The aim of the campaign is to encourage organisations, communities and individuals to take action."
