Somebody can not even wash clothes in peace or go out in all white. Na wa. [osita-iheme-cant-wait] Just last week, I almost missed an outing because the outfit I planned to wear refused to dry. Before you judge me and think that I go about doing wash and wear, let me tell you exactly what happened. My washing machine packed up just after Jumia Anniversary (how convenient 🙄), so a whole rich aunty of Lagos like me has been washing my clothes with my hands until I can get another one. As a result, I had been putting off washing my clothes for almost 2 weeks so I can do everything at once (don’t judge me abeg) and this whole rain palava has not been helping my matter. So, when my girls and I decided to go on a date, I had no other option than to wash. I washed and dried my clothes thinking that the next day I would iron my outfit and just keep it for my D-Day 🤡. {NAME}, it rained and rained and rained. This rain beat my clothes shege banza for 3 whole days! Trust me sha, Jemima no Dey carry last. I found an alternative outfit and looked peng!👌 [laugh] But the clothes I washed were still not dry so it’s safe to say Rain 100 - Jemima 0. I tried to console myself with the saying “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”, but in my case, it made me wiser. I decided that this rain will not shame me again. So as usual, I made a list of all the things I’ll be needing to survive this rainy season. I called it “My Rainy Season Survival Kit” and it included things like; - [Washing machine]( because I know the price still won’t be that high despite my aroro. - [Umbrella]( as I don’t want even a drop of rain on my clothes. - [Rubber slippers]( for when I need to step out of the house after a heavy rain. - [Hair dryer]( just in case I forget my umbrella and rain wets my hair. - [Hoodies]( for the warm and cozy feeling it gives. After that, I sharply opened my Jumia app and ordered everything on my list before I hear “sold out”. Now that I’m covered 😉, the rain can keep falling.
