Another Amazon facility in Staten Island is voting on organizing with Amazon Labor Union. [Jumaane for Governor of New York](#) {NAME}, This past weekend I joined hundreds of Amazon workers, Amazon Labor Union (ALU) organizers, Sen. Bernie Sanders, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and my running mate, Ana María Archila, in Staten Island. [Image of ALU organizers with Jumaane, Bernie Sanders, Ana Maria Archila, AOC, and others]( We were there to celebrate their historic victory of the first Amazon facility to win a unionization vote and to support their effort to win a second vote at a warehouse next door. It was inspiring to take part and support the visionary organizing of the ALU. It’s impossible to not be moved by the tenacity of local leaders who stood up to a goliath and won. [Right now, workers from a second Amazon facility in Staten Island are voting to unionize. Let’s show them we stand with them. Join me in supporting the workers of the Amazon Labor Union now!]( [ADD YOUR VOICE]( Unions are the backbone to creating a strong middle class. Everyone deserves dignity at their workplace and policies that honor the sacrifices they make everyday, especially those made throughout this pandemic. During the past two years, we’ve seen billionaires like Jeff Bezos get richer, while the people who work in his warehouses continue to struggle. Through each and every moment of this crisis, what has shined through, what really defines this moment, are incredible acts of courage, resilience and solidarity of people. Amazon warehouse employees dealt with inadequate safety measures and not enough personal protection equipment. They endured long hours, shifting schedules, and dangerous working conditions, and still delivered for the company everyday. [Image of ALU founder Chris Smalls addressing the crowd.]( Now, thanks to their victory at the JFK8 facility, workers will soon be able to bargain collectively for the higher wages and better working conditions they deserve. This is a historic moment when the actions we take will reverberate for generations to come. [Please join me in supporting the workers of the Amazon Labor Union now!]( We’re witnessing a worker revolution, with employees from Starbucks to Amazon and beyond organizing together for the right to bargain collectively.
