Two Matchups Stand Out Hey , Â With the NBA Playoffs officially tipping off this weekend I want to

Two Matchups Stand Out Hey ,  With the NBA Playoffs officially tipping off this weekend I want to go ahead and give the two game tease that I believe has value.  The first game I am looking at is Atlanta @ Boston.  Boston is among the top 3 contenders in this year’s playoffs to win the Larry O’Brien Trophy, so I am expecting an opening series win for the Celtics.  The Celtics have been one of the more consistent teams in the league all year and are highly potent on both the offensive and defensive end.  Facing up against them is the Atlanta Hawks.  Atlanta has been average for pretty much the entire season.  In fact they went from January to April without being more than 1 game away from a 500 record, which is bizarre to say the least.  Atlanta does have some weapons, especially on the offensive end with Trae Young and Dejounte Murray.  Atlanta’s troubles are on the defensive end where they rank in the bottom third of the league in terms of defensive rating.  Not where you want to be when going up against a Boston team that ranks second in offensive rating.  Expect Boston to win game 1 of this series.   Los Angeles Clippers @ Phoenix Suns  I am all about simplicity and this game certainly fits it.  I am all in on the Suns until proven otherwise.  They are undefeated (7-0) in games Kevin Durant has played, yes that is a small sample but it still is an ominous sign for the rest of the league.  Even more simply, in the NBA talent often wins, especially when that talent includes Kevin Durant.  Many have talked about Durant’s failure in Brooklyn, but what many seem to forget is that when James Harden, Kyrie Irving, and Durant all played together they were nearly unstoppable.  Injuries and off court issues were the Nets ultimate downfall but had they stayed healthy I firmly believe they would have won the NBA title in 2021.  Moving back to this year’s Suns team, they have the loaded lineup of Chris Paul (albeit an older version who is less of a scorer), Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and Deandre Ayton.  That lineup is as formidable as any in the league.  Prior to the Durant trade the Suns were a good to really good team in the loaded Western Conference.  With Durant, Phoenix is a really good to potentially great team on both offense and defense.  Going up against Phoenix is a solid Clippers team who has one of the best players in the league in Kawhi Leonard.  Unfortunately for Los Angeles they are down Leonard’s running mate, Paul George, who is out with an injury.  Needless to say I like the Suns in this game, and with that presents itself a nice tease opportunity with Boston and Phoenix.  Phoenix is currently -7 and Boston is -9.  Teasing that 6 points means Phoenix moves down to -1, so you basically just need them to win, and then Boston is down to -3.  Be aware this is just what I think will happen and not a system pick!  Last time I did one of these we won so let’s hope that the Suns and Celtics give us two in a row!
