UCONN is -7.5 Favorite - Here's Why Hey , After an extremely chaotic and bizarre March Madness the College Basketball National Championship takes the stage tonight. It pits San Diego State vs UCONN up against one another. "EXACTLY" like we thought when we all filled out our brackets. Time for the preview and prediction.  Currently UCONN is a -7.5 point favorite, up from the -5.5 that they opened at. Clearly the early money was on the Huskies and it is easy to see why. Connecticut has dominated each game they have played, winning by double digits in each contest. Their opponent, SDSU has used exceptional defense and efficient late game magic to make their improbable run to the championship game. My article earlier today highlighted the ways that SDSU COULD MAYBE keep it close, which shows what they are going up against.  So how will this game shake out?  I hate to be boring but I do think UCONN will run away with this game. The Aztecs might be able to slow the game down and keep it somewhat interesting for a little while, but I think the downfall will be a long scoring drought. UCONN will punish the Aztecs subpar offense by going on a solid scoring run of their own. If SDSU gets down double digits I don’t think they have the offense to realistically come back and win. The one thing that should give San Diego State fans some hope is that UCONN has not played a team quite like SDSU in this tournament. Maybe the Huskies get dragged into a rock fight which favors San Diego State, and the Aztecs can steal a victory at the end. But I don’t see that happening. I think UCONN wins outright and covers the spread at -7.5. Best regards, Olin G.
