Tonight's NBA Action is LEGIT! Hey , With college basketball wrapping up and the NBA playoffs just around the corner it is a good time to preview the two big (and only) games for tonight’s NBA slate.   Boston Celtics @ Milwaukee Bucks The first game is about as big as it gets for the NBA regular season. The number one team in the Eastern Conference Milwaukee Bucks vs the number two team in the Eastern Conference Boston Celtics. Milwaukee's defense will be the key factor in tonight's game. The Bucks have a defensive rating of 110, good for second best in the NBA. If the Bucks are going to win they will have to earn it on the defensive end against the great Celtics offense. Boston has arguably the best offensive one-two punch in the league with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, so most action will go through them. For the first two thirds of the season Boston was arguably the best team in the league; however, since February the Celtics have slightly regressed while the Bucks have soared. In fact, the Bucks have gone 26-4 in their last 30 games. Despite the recent hot streak the spread for tonight’s game has the Bucks only at -2.5 despite being the home team. My guess is the spread is that low because this is the second night of a back-to-back for the Bucks, and obviously the Celtics are a really good team. I do think in neutral circumstances the Bucks would have the edge over the Celtics, primarily due to Milwaukee’s elite defense combined with Antetokounmpo’s greatness. Also, Boston has been struggling by their standards recently (last game they lost by 19 points to a Wizards team that is tanking for a better draft pick). All of these factors – Milwaukee is hot, at home, and against a semi struggling Boston team, make me think Milwaukee will win tonight. I will take the Bucks to win.  New Orleans Pelicans @ Denver Nuggets The Pelicans come into this game playing exceptionally well – they had won 5 in a row before losing to the Warriors last time out. Brandon Ingram is the star man for New Orleans this season. With Zion Williamson out for an extended period (again) Ingram and C.J. McCollum have shouldered the scoring burden, and done so in exceptional fashion. For the Nuggets, the biggest question coming tonight is the availability of Nikola Jokic. The back-to-back MVP is the key reason for the Nuggets offensive success, but he is currently listed as questionable with calf tightness. If he is unable to go then I like the Pelicans to win here. Jokic is such a focal point for the Nuggets offensively and without him they lose a significant scoring and playmaking punch. Unfortunately, as of writing this we still do not know if he will play. Injury reports for NBA teams are inconsistent at best. Some players are ruled out hours before the game, others not until 30 minutes before tip-off. It can be especially problematic when you’re wagering, but I digress. I will take the Nuggets if Jokic plays, but I will take the Pelicans if Jokic is out.  Stay tuned for more updates regarding the NBA playoff race in the coming week! The regular season wraps up on April 9th and then it will be playoff time! Best regards, Olin G.
