My name is Josh Stein. Iâm a husband. A father. A son. A brother. North Carolina's Attorney General. And the Democratic nominee for the most competitive governorâs race of 2024. Iâm running because I believe firmly that we can deliver a brighter future for our state when we work together. North Carolina is where I grew up and where my wife Anna and I raised our kids. Iâm proud to call this state home and to have spent decades in public service here, working to advance our shared priorities and keep people safe. As Attorney General, during my time in the state senate, and as a consumer protection lawyer, Iâve taken on big fights for the people of North Carolina â and won. Iâve fought to build safer communities, hold corporate wrongdoers accountable, and defend everyoneâs fundamental rights. Now, weâre fighting to stop the extremist far-right policies that threaten our stateâs future. North Carolina is a great place to live, but my GOP opponents and their allies in the legislature are plotting to pursue policies that would drag us backward. The National GOP is attacking reproductive health care access, voting rights, and other freedoms â and they see North Carolina as their best chance to enact their agenda. With just weeks remaining until Election Day, our race has been rated a toss-up and National GOP groups are financially supporting my opponent with over $10 million in a bid to flip our governorship red.
