# Hi, The 4th of July is a day to spend time with your family and reflect on what it means to be American. Today, we must remember where we came from — our country was created by a group of people who believed in freedom for all. The ideals America was founded on almost 250 years ago still hold true today. We have made immense progress since our founding, but if this year has taught us anything, we still have room to grow. We must ensure all Americans are equal, receive just treatment, and are free. We need to continue to take care of our veterans who have sacrificed everything to uphold the American dream. Together, we must continue working together as one community — one nation — to overcome the coronavirus, fix social injustice, and heal our country from hateful rhetoric. This 4th of July, I promise you I will continue to fight on behalf of all who call America home. I will continue reaching across the aisle to ensure action is taken and ideologies don’t get in the way of real solutions. While today’s celebration might not look like how we've honored our country in the past, our community will still celebrate America’s independence. I hope you have a safe and happy 4th of July.
