Adam Schiff (D) and Republican Steve Garvey [won nominations]( to the U.S. Senate seat and will face off in the general election. In Texas, Rep. Lizzie Fletcher (D) held off her far-left challenger, Houston District Attorney Kim Ogg lost her race, and Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan [was forced into a runoff]( by Trump-backed David Covey. Sinema is in her first term and publicly switched party affiliation from Democrat to Independent in 2022. [Her exit means]( Arizona voters will likely see a Senate race between Republican Kari Lake and Democrat Ruben Gallego. The study found that EV brakes and tires release “1,850 times more particles of pollution” than their combustible counterparts. [Lithium-ion batteries](are the source of the excessive pollution. The batteries are heavy and cause tires and breaks to wear out faster. It is estimated that EVs produce about 20% more microplastic emissions than gas cars.
