It's the largest batch of sanctions since the Russian invasion of Ukraine two years ago. [The penalties targeted Russian]( financial institutions and manufacturing industries, and they imposed travel restrictions on select Russian officials. President Biden hinted at a new wave of sanctions earlier this week after reports of Navalny’s death began to appear. Biden told reporters he had “no doubt” Putin was behind the death of Navalny.
