The rollback in the White House position was a result of [strong lobbying from car manufacturers]( and dealers, who said the original timetable wasn’t feasible, considering consumers’ current unwillingness to buy electric vehicles. The original proposal was to have 67% of all cars on the road be electric by 2032; the current number is 8%. [Article Icon 1] Abuse Call Ends With Police, Paramedic Dead Two police officers and a firefighter-paramedic [were killed Sunday]( while responding to a domestic abuse call in the Minneapolis suburb of Burnsville. A SWAT team killed the shooter. Officials said the officers arrived at the house about 2:30 a.m. to find [a man armed and barricaded](with family members, including multiple children. The shooting started about three hours later. The paramedic was shot while trying to help a wounded officer. Police swarmed the neighborhood, and “at approximately 8 a.m., the suspect was reported to be dead.” City officials said the other family members were safe.
