On Monday, she indicated the delay could last until late 2024. Trump’s critics publicly [expressed fear that the delay]( could carry Trump past election day in November. “I am officially now at the freakout stage,” said Obama-era former U.S. Solicitor General Neal Katyal. At issue is the amount of time the federal appeals court panel is taking to decide the question of presidential immunity. Even after it rules, if he loses, Trump can appeal to the full appeals court and from there to the U.S. Supreme Court. The King was hospitalized last week to treat “benign prostate enlargement,” and the cancer was found during that treatment. Charles has been King since September 2022, when his mother, Queen Elizabeth, died at age 96.
