[Take Off] [Article Icon 1] U.S. Plans to Hit Iranian Targets The U.S. has approved plans [to attack Iranian targets]( in Syria and Iraq in a series of strikes staged over several days, government officials told CBS News. The strikes are in retaliation for a drone attack in the region that killed three U.S. troops and injured dozens more. The targets will include Iranian personnel and facilities, officials said. Weather will be a major factor in the timing of the strikes. While the military can attack in bad weather, officials said they [prefer good visibility]( to avoid inadvertently hitting civilian targets. [Article Icon 1] 'Pineapple Express' Storms Into California California is in the midst of back-to-back large “atmospheric river” storms projected to produce heavy rains, snow, and damaging winds. (21 minutes), and San Francisco (20 minutes). The fastest were Oklahoma City, Knoxville and San Diego at around nine minutes. The ranking by TomTom, a mapping-location tech company, measures the time it takes to drive six miles through a city center.
