Greg Abbott is [fighting back]( against the Biden administration and a U.S. Supreme Court ruling allowing Border Patrol agents to cut down razor wire put up by the state to block a stretch of the border. Abbott hasn't given way on the razor wire, and he posted [an open letter to X]( arguing that Texas had a “constitutional right to self-defense” because Biden had failed to secure the border. The battle could force a constitutional confrontation. Several Democrats in Congress, including Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro, called on Biden to take [control of the Texas National Guard]( if the state defies the Supreme Court order.
