[Check it out!]( [Take Off] [Article Icon 1] House Plans Vote on Biden Impeachment House Speaker Mike Johnson said the House could vote as early as this week to launch a [formal impeachment inquiry]( into President Joe Biden over financial improprieties. Johnson said the formal inquiry is necessary because “we’re being stonewalled by the White House.” He says he believes he has [enough Republican votes](to pass the measure and doesn’t expect to get any votes from Democrats. The White House denies Biden did anything wrong and has called the investigation illegitimate because a full House vote hasn't [formalized it.]( [Article Icon 1]U.S. Warship Opens Fire in Self-Defense The warship USS Carney [opened fire]( at Houthi drones in the Red Sea as nearby commercial ships came under attack in an hours-long assault by Yemeni rebels. Several drones also approached the Carney and were shot down. The attack marked an escalation in the maritime attacks related to the war in Gaza as multiple vessels found themselves targets of a single rebel assault for the first time in the conflict. The U.S. military’s Central Command said that the attacks "[are fully enabled by Iran](." No U.S. injuries were reported on the Carney, a guided-missile destroyer ([see photos here](). The Yemeni rebels, backed by Iran, have been targeting Israel as well as tankers and other vessels in the Red Sea. [Article Icon 1] College Playoff Teams Set, FSU Left Out The final four college football championship contenders have been chosen, but not without controversy. The teams are [Michigan, Washington, Texas and Alabama](, who will begin the playoffs on Jan 1. Alabama, 12-1, is in by virtue of its upset victory over No. 1-ranked Georgia, which hadn’t lost a game in two years. Texas, also 12-1, made the cut because it defeated Alabama earlier in the year. Left out is Florida State, 13-0, passed over because their starting quarterback is injured. It’s the first time in modern college playoff history that an undefeated Power 5 champion failed to make the playoff.
