[Take Off] [Article Icon 1] Israel, Hamas Agree to Hostage Swap Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu won the support of his war cabinet for a hostage swap with Hamas and a temporary ceasefire, and Israel and Hamas [have confirmed the deal]( separately. The agreement allows for a [group of 50 Israeli hostages]( to be released, along with 150 Hamas prisoners, during the first phase of the deal. Israel will also allow 300 aid trucks to enter Gaza per day. Netanyahu told the full cabinet that Israel [will continue the war]( after any pauses even if the hostage deal is agreed to. The hostage swap isn’t expected to begin until Thursday at the earliest. The military is struggling to meet recruitment numbers, one of the factors driving the outreach [to 1,900 active-duty soldiers]( who were separated because they would not get vaccinated for COVID.
