[Take Off] [Article Icon 1] U.S. Set to Upgrade Nuclear Arsenal The Pentagon announced plans to build [a more modern nuclear bomb](—24 times as powerful as the ones dropped on Japan—to replace America’s aging stockpile. The new gravity bomb, designed to be dropped from an airplane, will be designated as B61-13 and [would replace the old B61-7s,]( which date to the 1980s and ‘90s. The maximum yield would be 360 kilotons. The FBI was alerted as well. Kathy Hochul called in the state police, who kept guard over buildings where Jewish students gathered. [Article Icon 1]Auto Strike Ends as Union Settles With GM The United Auto Workers reached a tentative [deal with General Motors]( on Monday, ending the six-week-old strike against the three major automakers. The UAW had already struck deals with Ford and Stellantis. The four-year deal with Ford set the template for the settlements. UAW workers [will get a 25% wage increase]( over the contract term, better 401K terms, and concessions on union representation at new plants.
