Ron DeSantis and California Gov. Gavin Newsom have [agreed to debate]( each other one-on-one on Nov. 30 on Sean Hannity’s primetime Fox News show. The two governors have been [taunting and sparring]( with each other for months over the policies in each other’s states. Hannity first raised the idea of a debate in June, and both men soon signed on. Newsom has insisted on no live audience, and there’s no word on that yet. “We want a debate, not a circus,” said a Newsom spokesperson. [Article Icon 1]Menendez Refuses to Resign from Senate Sen. Bob Menendez, accused of bribery and caught with $550,000 in cash and gold bars in his home, insisted Monday that [he was innocent]( and wouldn’t resign from office. Menendez said the cash found by investigators came from his [personal savings account](, which he had been withdrawing for 30 years in “case of emergencies.” He didn’t address the gold bars also found in his home. He hired lawyer Abbe Lowell, who is [also Hunter Biden’s attorney](, to defend him on the charges. Lowell successfully defended Menendez in 2015 when he was accused of accepting illegal gifts. [Article Icon 2]Four-Day School Week On the Rise Many U.S. public schools are adopting a [four-day school week]( to save money and help them recruit teachers, while parents worry about what to do with their kids on the off day. Currently, about 900 school districts use a four-day week, up from 650 in 2020, out of a total of 13,000 school districts. It's more likely in rural districts, but [one of the biggest]( is Independence, Mo., where 14,000 students now take Mondays off. While it leaves parents scrambling for daycare and an alternative to school lunch on the off day, school administrators say it’s definitely a draw for teachers.
