To qualify, Kennedy [must have 15% support]( in at least four national polls and be on the ballot in enough states to total 270 electoral college votes. Notably, there will be no live audience for the debate and the candidates' mics will be muted outside of their own speaking times in an effort to stave off the often chaotic nature of presidential debates in recent election cycles. Trump and Biden have also [agreed to rules]( around enforced speaking times and not consulting campaign members during the two planned commercial breaks.
