The decision to work directly with the TV networks bypasses the traditional Commission on Presidential Debates schedule, with Biden’s team criticizing the commission for being “unable or unwilling to enforce the rules” during previous debates. Police arrested a suspect in the shooting, which occurred while Fico was greeting the public after a government meeting in Handlova, about 110 miles from the capital, Bratislava.
