Fed Chair Jerome Powell also cheered investors, saying that the Fed [didn’t plan on raising rates]( as its next move. The central bank still expects inflation to continue to cool, though more gradually than it thought three months ago. “It is still likely,” Powell said, “that we will see that confidence and that there will be rate cuts.” [Article Icon 1] Speaker Johnson to Face Ouster Vote Rep. One third of those surveyed said they’re less likely to hire an Ivy League graduate than they were five years ago. Forty-two percent of respondents said they were more likely to hire public university grads. Respondents said the shift comes down to overall preparedness for employment. Only 14% of those surveyed said Ivy League graduates were prepared. Twenty percent said Ivy League schools were doing worse.
