[Take Off] [Article Icon 1]Students Defy University Deadline Columbia University officials [began suspending students]( Monday after pro-Palestinian protestors failed to disperse by a 2 p.m. deadline imposed by the school’s administration. The university [offered the students a chance]( to finish the semester in good standing if they left the encampment and signed a form committing to abide by university policies. More than 300 protestors defied the deadline and at least 120 tents remained. Law enforcement officers were stationed outside the encampment, but neither they nor school officials entered the encampment. [Protest leaders said]( they would not be moved unless force was used. A U.S. Marshals task force of officers from multiple agencies attempted to serve a warrant in east Charlotte when the shooting started. Three marshals were killed and four local police officers were injured, one critically. One suspect [was found dead inside the home](. Two other occupants were also found in the home and were being questioned. The gunfire began sometime around 1 p.m. and continued for several minutes.
