[Take Off] [Article Icon 1] Ohio Rejects Biden Ballot Proposal Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost [rejected an effort by state Democrats](to circumvent a key election deadline and allow President Biden on the state’s November general election ballot. Ohio election law calls for presidential candidates to be certified by their respective parties [before August 7]( to appear on November’s ballot. The Democratic National Convention is scheduled for August 19. A lawyer working with [Ohio Democrats sent a letter]( to the Ohio secretary of state last week saying the party would provisionally certify Biden before the deadline and then confirm the results at the convention later. Yost’s office responded that Democrats couldn't unilaterally change election deadlines, and Ohio election laws don’t allow for an alternative or provisional process. The Northeast and Western regions of the country trend toward the top of the list, while states in the South and Midwest are lower.
