Let me tell you exactly why I got into this race and why we email you so much asking for your support. [John Banner]( {NAME}, There are just 10 days left until Primary Election Day, so let me cut to the chase and tell you exactly why I got into this race and why we email you so much asking for your support. This is a longer email, so if you would rather take action now, [please consider giving just $10 to help us reach the over 20% of likely voters here in Maryland who are undecided and will decide this election >>]( My great-grandfather and his family were enslaved in a cabin not 25 miles from where I currently live with my wife and two daughters in Silver Spring. It’s difficult to fathom what my ancestors lived through, but because they survived with faith in a future they could not see, I am here today. Their perseverance ushered in new opportunities for entire generations to come and my family is the realization of their hope. And the thing is, not even in their wildest dreams could they have ever envisioned that just three generations later, their great-grandson would serve in the cabinet of our first Black President. Now, I’m running for governor for them, and for every one of our predecessors who fought to make the American dream one we can all realize. I’m running for you and your family. For your right to be true to who you are, whether by hanging a pride flag in your classroom or seeking life-saving gender-affirming care. For your right to decide if and when you are ready to start a family. For juvenile justice reform, worker protections, accessible public transit, world class public schools, and bold investments in affordable housing. For a better Maryland for all of us. Let me be clear: we cannot wait to begin building a better future for our children. The next governor of Maryland will be charged with determining what trajectory Maryland will take as we face the defining challenges of our lifetimes, from climate change to criminal justice reform to public health and safety. I am up to the challenge and I am ready to lead our state on the path to progress. But right now, I am relying on folks like you to help guide our campaign across the finish line. We have to hustle to raise the resources we need to spread the word about our campaign to undecided voters on the airwaves, through direct mail, at the doors, and online. [So if you are in a position to contribute today, please make a donation to support our campaign. Together, we can build a Maryland that works for everyone.]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately.
