If you believe that every woman has the right to make decisions about her own body, please sign our petition to enshrine abortion rights in Maryland’s state constitution. [Michelle Banner]( {NAME}, I wanted to share my thoughts about the recent news out of the Supreme Court. I am absolutely devastated and outraged by the court’s ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade, which will decimate access to abortion — especially for low-income women and women of color — across the country. This ruling makes clear as day that it is not enough to just be pro-choice anymore. I’ve dedicated my life to fighting tirelessly for women’s reproductive rights — from my time as Board President of Planned Parenthood Maryland to my current role as Executive Director of The Maryland Women’s Law Center. That fight will not end in a King-Siri administration and John and I pledge to make Maryland a North Star for the nation for safe and legal abortion care. Though Maryland lawmakers had the foresight to codify Roe in 1992, with this latest ruling it’s absolutely dire that we pass an amendment enshrining the right to an abortion in Maryland’s constitution. [If you believe that every woman has the right to make decisions about her own body, will you stand with John and I by adding your name to our petition to enshrine abortion rights in Maryland’s state constitution?]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( With this horrendous ruling from SCOTUS and the federal government failing to take action to protect our bodily autonomy, it’s never been more important to elect reproductive champions to statewide office. That’s why I am so proud our campaign was recently endorsed by Pro-Choice Maryland Action, the state’s leading reproductive rights group. Our administration will stop at nothing to keep bans off women’s bodies because John and I believe wholeheartedly that abortion is health care, and health care is a human right. This decision not only guts abortion rights, but is a direct attempt to severely restrict access to contraception, IVF (in-vitro fertilization) treatments, and reproductive health care. My two beautiful children were both born with the help of IVF, and now it will be that much harder for thousands of women seeking IVF treatments to start families of their own. Every woman deserves ownership over her own fertility, family, and body. Full stop. [If you agree, please add your name to support enshrining the right to an abortion in Maryland today.]( [ADD YOUR NAME]( We’re all in this fight together, {NAME}, and as Maryland’s next Lieutenant Governor, I’ll always be in your corner. Onwards and upwards, Michelle Siri P.S. If you have a moment, please give to the Baltimore Abortion Fund to support those who will have to travel here for an abortion: [( --------------------------------------------------------------- Paid for by John King for Governor, Eliza Leighton, Treasurer John King for Governor PO Box 8429 Silver Spring, MD 20907 United States [Facebook]( [Twitter]( [Instagram]( [CONTRIBUTE TODAY]( [VOLUNTEER]( [SHOP MERCH]( [YARD SIGNS]( If you would like to learn more about John King's historic campaign for Maryland governor, text PROGRESS to 48178 or visit our [website](.
