We cannot allow Republicans like Kelly Schulz to use fear-mongering tactics to pit parents against educators and put our children’s futures at risk. {NAME}, One of our GOP opponents, Kelly Schulz, just released an ad touting her “parental bill of rights”. She’s using dog-whistles for banning teaching about the history of racism in this country. It’s a tactic taken straight out of the Glenn Youngkin playbook. I won’t stand for these aggressive ploys to ban teaching the truth about the lived experiences of generations of Americans like my great-grandfather and his family having been enslaved in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Kelly Schulz pretends to be different from far-right Del. Dan Cox and extremist GOP governors, but her platform illustrates just how similar their views are on critical issues like education. We cannot afford to move backwards and deprive our children of an inclusive and accurate curriculum. [If you agree, can you chip in to our campaign to elect a proven teacher and leader as governor today?]( [CONTRIBUTE]( {NAME}, as the only current public school parent in this race, and as a former teacher, principal, and U.S. Secretary of Education I know firsthand how important it is that students feel represented and respected in the classroom. We cannot allow Republicans like Kelly Schulz to use fear-mongering tactics to pit parents against educators and put our children’s futures at risk. We need to build strong coalitions of educators, parents, administrators, and students committed to making sure every child has the chance to succeed, and under a Schulz administration, that won’t happen. I have the most firsthand experience on education in this race as an educator, through my work with public schools and their staff, and as the only current public school parent running – and I understand the unique challenges they face. As U.S. Secretary of Education under President Obama, I oversaw a budget that was more than $15 billion dollars bigger than Maryland’s state budget – and as governor, I’ll put that experience to work for our students and schools. [Please, if you believe that all of our kids deserve to thrive in school and that our history shouldn’t be erased for political gain, consider contributing to our campaign today.]( [CHIP IN NOW]( Thanks, John --------------------------------------------------------------- Paid for by John King for Governor, Eliza Leighton, Treasurer John King for Governor PO Box 8429 Silver Spring, MD 20907 United States [Facebook]( [Twitter]( [Instagram]( [CONTRIBUTE TODAY]( [CONTRIBUTE MONTHLY]( If you would like to learn more about John King's historic campaign for Maryland governor, text PROGRESS to 48178 or visit our [website](.
