As a lifelong educator, I know the impact that our different social systems can have on the lives of students and families. {NAME}, One of the strongest driving forces in my campaign to become Maryland’s next governor is my dedication to making life in our state more equitable. Growing up in an unstable household, I know how challenging life can be when families don’t have the basic resources to thrive. I lost my mother when I was 8 and lived with my father, who had undiagnosed Alzheimer’s, and it was public education and great public school teachers that saved me and made sure I didn’t slip through the cracks. Marylanders deserve the same, and they deserve a governor who will establish universal, affordable childcare in our state — it’s one of the many ways our government can and should make people’s lives better. Things like quality public transportation, stronger public schools, paid family leave, ensuring a living wage, and better support for small businesses would all make such a meaningful impact in lifting up those of us across the state who need a boost and would benefit everyone in the process. As a lifelong educator, I know the impact that our different social systems can have on the lives of students and families. As governor, I want to ensure that our state government is a transformative force for good in the lives of all Marylanders. I’m proud to advocate for progressive policies, and I hope you’ll join me as we work towards a brighter future for Maryland.
