[John Avlon for Congress]( {NAME}, With just one week until the primary election, let me tell you: the momentum is real. Before I got into this race, NY-01 wasn’t considered a real battleground. Now it is - if we win the primary. That’s why I’m honored to have received an unprecedented number of early endorsements - from our neighboring congressman Tom Suozzi and the New Democrat Coalition to 6 local Democratic Town Committees to three members of the Assembly and three major labor unions. Against a self-funding candidate’s desperate negative attacks, we have run a campaign based on the politics of addition, not division. And I believe that’s what Democrats want to see - in addition to the fact that it’s the way to win a swing district. A few months ago, a reporter for New York Magazine wondered whether voters would reward an earnest patriot with “West Wing politics.” But what I have learned is very simple, and incredibly encouraging: Finding common sense based on common ground isn’t out of style. And when voters in a swing district have a MAGA Congressman who treats his duty like a no-show job – coming together to get things done has real appeal. Nick LaLota really wants to run against my primary opponent - because she’s already lost once by ten points. So he’s sharing some of the same false negative attacks that she’s been sending around the district. You know how I feel about that. [You take bullies head on.]( We really are building the broadest possible coalition. Democrats are coming together to make sure we win this seat, and I’m honored to see the energy and optimism that comes from recognizing that Democrats can’t afford to lose this fight - because if we win here, Democrats will control the House - and we can take action to defend our democracy, protect reproductive freedom and address the affordability crisis as we strengthen the middle class. Early voting has already started. We’re knocking doors, making phone calls, and texting voters. Our field program is in full swing trying to capture every single vote. We’re not stopping. [If you are able to, please consider making one more contribution to help with this last push. At this point we are turning every dollar into voter outreach and making the case. It’s working. And anything you can do helps.]( I’ll check in before the weekend with some final updates. Thank you for fighting this good fight with me. I wouldn’t have it any other way. -John PS - if you haven’t seen our ads yet, I’m really proud of them. Please watch them ([here]( and [here]( and make sure we have the resources to keep up the pressure in the final week.
