[John Avlon for Congress]( {NAME}, it’s true. But you won’t hear about it from Trump or his flunky Nick Lalota. Trump and his right-wing Washington Republicans raised taxes for middle class families on Long Island. The worst part is that they did it out of spite as part of a political stunt designed to punish “blue states” by taking away the state and local tax deductions that had been in place for a century. This is a matter of fairness: because New Yorkers give far more to the federal government than we get back - while “red” states get more than they give. Republicans are never going to restore that state and local deduction because they’re invested in the red state blue-state divide. In fact, Trumpublican leaders just made it official: after a disastrous, do-nothing congress, they announced that they won’t restore the SALT deductions if they stay in control of the House. That’s one more reason why New Yorkers know we can’t afford to lose this fight. When I’m in Congress, I’ll focus on lowering the cost of living and improving the quality of life. Democrats will rebuild the middle class and protect women’s reproductive rights - which are under assault by Republicans right now. I want this campaign to be a conversation, which is why I’m constantly talking with families just like the Hodgsons. It’s why I’m proud that this conversation is the basis for our new ad.   [Voters across Suffolk County are seeing this ad right now. I hope you’ll watch and pitch in to make sure every voter sees this important message.]( This is exactly why I’m running for Congress, but I can’t do it alone. Thanks for fighting the good fight with me. -John [CONTRIBUTE]( PAID FOR BY JOHN AVLON FOR CONGRESS John Avlon for Congress PO Box 1200 Sag Harbor, NY 11963 United States If you believe you received this message in error or wish to no longer receive email from us, please [unsubscribe](.
