The decision that we feared was coming has finally been released. Throwing away almost 50 years of precedent, the Supreme Court has struck down Roe v. Wade and will no longer protect the right to abortion across the country. This ruling will have ramifications for years to come in states like ours. For the first time in our nation’s history, our daughters will now have fewer rights than their mothers and grandmothers. This news just made our race for governor even more critical. Reproductive health is now going to be up to states—and Henry McMaster and the S.C. GOP have promised to impose an absolute ban—without any exceptions—on abortion in our state. [My veto pen is all that will stand in the way of a total ban on abortion in South Carolina, so we need to show our strength. Will you join us by chipping in $10 TODAY to help fight for reproductive rights?]( If you've stored your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will process now. This should not be a political issue, and politicians should have no role in such intimate, personal decisions. I’m proud to have had a 100% pro-choice record as a member of Congress and will block any attempts to limit a woman’s right to choose as governor. The stakes could not be higher. Lives are at risk. We have to make sure that we’re ready to defend a woman’s right to choose in South Carolina, and we need your help to do that.
