The decision that we feared was coming has finally been released. Throwing away almost 50 years of precedent, the Supreme Court has struck down Roe v. Wade and will no longer protect the right to abortion across the country. This ruling will have ramifications for years to come in states like ours. For the first time in our nationâs history, our daughters will now have fewer rights than their mothers and grandmothers. This news just made our race for governor even more critical. Reproductive health is now going to be up to statesâand Henry McMaster and the S.C. GOP have promised to impose an absolute banâwithout any exceptionsâon abortion in our state.
